The Motherland Calls! (Russian: Родина-мать зовет!)

Unveiled in 1967, The Motherland Calls was constructed to commemorate the battle of Stalingrad (1942-1943). The statue stands 91 meters tall (299 feet) and was designed by sculptor Yevgeny Vuchetich and structural engineer Nikolai Nikitin.
